Designed for the person who does everything else, too.
Every part of Munikit was built around one question: can the town clerk or office administrator do this without calling for help? If you've ever filed a support ticket to change a phone number, or manually uploaded a PDF because your CMS has no concept of a meeting agenda — this page is for you.

Screenshots straight from the Munikit admin your staff would use — grouped by what it does, and built so a non-technical clerk can find their way around on day one.
Everything your municipality publishes — one place to manage it all
News articles, events, meeting agendas, bylaws, FAQs, job postings, bid notices, permits and licences, staff directory, services — it's all in Munikit. Your clerk fills out a form and hits publish. It appears on the right page automatically — no plugin to configure, no shortcode to remember, no developer to call, no support ticket to file.
- Post a news article or press release in under 5 minutes
- Add an event with date, time, location, and registration link
- Publish a meeting agenda — update it to "minutes available" when they're ready
- Answer a resident question once in the FAQs, then point everyone there
- List a job opening that disappears automatically when the position is filled
- Post a bid notice that meets your public-notice obligation
Meeting records — from the first notice to published minutes
Munikit tracks the full lifecycle of every council and committee meeting. On WordPress, meeting agendas are manually uploaded PDFs with no status tracking. On most subscription platforms, the workflow exists but it's buried in settings your staff will need training to find. In Munikit, the committee secretary updates the status at each step — scheduled, agenda posted, in session, minutes published — and citizens always see the current state on the public website.
- Post the agenda when it's ready — it appears on the meeting page automatically
- Mark a meeting cancelled with an explanation, not a silent deletion
- Attach minutes as a PDF once they're approved
- Council and committee pages auto-populate from your member lists
- A council member gets married and changes her name — just edit the record, old links still work
Your website is accessible. You don't have to do anything special.
This isn't an accessibility overlay widget bolted on after the fact. Every component was built accessible from the start — screen reader nav, keyboard navigation, contrast ratios — tested with axe-core on every route before it shipped. You're compliant from day one without hiring a consultant or adding a plugin.
- Citizens who use screen readers can navigate every page correctly
- The entire site is keyboard-navigable — no mouse required
- Color contrast is tested across every component
- Emergency alerts announce themselves to screen readers the moment they appear
- All photo and image uploads require a description — so nothing slips through
Translate content when you're ready. Residents never see a broken page.
If your municipality offers French services, Munikit has you covered. Staff can add French translations one article or page at a time — there's no "translate everything before launch" deadline. If French isn't added yet for a page, the English version shows. No broken pages, no error messages.
- Every content field supports English and French separately
- Missing French shows English automatically — residents never hit an empty page
- Names, bylaw numbers, and identifiers stay consistent in both languages
- Translate a news article this week and the service pages next month
- French can be kept fully dormant if your municipality doesn't require it
The right access for every staff member. No accidents.
Not everyone on your team should be able to publish a press release or update the navigation. Munikit has five access levels — so the summer student helping with events can contribute safely without ever seeing the council records or site settings.
- Authors write and save drafts — they can't publish anything
- Editors review and publish — they can't touch governance records or global settings
- Admins manage the full site — usually just one or two people
- Viewers can see the admin panel without changing anything
- New staff or volunteers get only what they need — nothing they don't
A custom theme built for your municipality — not a template.
During implementation, we design your municipality's complete theme — logo placement, brand colors, typography, and layout — applied consistently across every page, button, and component. The result looks unmistakably like your municipality. And if your brand evolves later, a single change takes effect everywhere.
- Your logo — placed in the header and footer automatically
- Your brand colors — applied across every button and link on the site
- Typography chosen to match your brand and government readability standards
- Favicon and social media preview image for a polished presence
- Any future brand update takes effect everywhere in one change
A boil-water advisory is live on every page before you hang up the phone.
When there's a real emergency, the last thing you need is a content approval queue. Emergency alerts in Munikit skip the draft-and-review loop entirely. Log in, type the notice, hit publish — and it appears as a banner across your entire website immediately.
- Live on the site the moment you hit publish — no approval wait
- The alert banner appears on every single page automatically
- Three levels: Urgent (boil-water, evacuation), Warning, and Info
- Set an end date and time — the alert clears itself when the emergency passes
- Requires Editor access to post — so it can't be triggered accidentally
